This is one of my exam pieces. Chopin was a mad man. I've been practising this piece for like 1 yr? And I still cant reach that speed and stamina. How am I supposed to pass my exam? I tried to train my arm muscles but I just cant reach that aggressive stage. My teacher: Be more aggressive when you are playing that piece! I think I'm just too weak, no arm n finger power, my energy drains at a much faster rate than others and my fingers end up numbed. Let me just break my arms...argh... A person's personality defines the music that comes out from his fingers. It is another way to express your feelings and emotions. And I know what kind of person you are from the pieces that you play..hehheh cool huh? An outspoken, active, extroverted person will more likely be more expressive in his pieces. This is exactly what I lack in the past according to my teacher, lacking feel n colours in all my pieces. Now? Slight improvement but still only 0.00000001% of chopin n bach's standard. Both are insane. You have to be good in maths in order to master bach's pieces. Because his compositions require you to do fractions mentally. His notes are always not on the beat and once you lose count, it's hard to follow...Maybe I just dont know how to appreciate their music.
I still prefer Richard Clayderman to all other pianists. He has really LONG fingers. I love his style of playing, it melts your heart and you can feel that you are in paradise...no wonder he's called Prince of Romantic music. There are 2 categories of music, I feel- One that defeats you which means that you are totally impressed by what the pianist is playing, usually the classical pieces and one that touches your heart and soul, usually warmth characterizes these comtemporary soothing music. Lang Lang (my idol too!) falls into category 1 and Clayderman music falls into category 2. It's difficult, really difficult to be able to master either one of these types of music. Yah I should work harder to get my distinction. But before getting that distinction, I have to memorize my pieces and/or find a page turner, add colours to my pieces, complete my research paper cum programme notes, prepare for oral presentation, overcome my stage fright...etc etc and the list goes on... Anyone interested to be my page turner? hahaz...
Anyway I prefer the Godowsky version, more modern feel in his touch and not as rigid as the 1st...hahaz...try listening to it again...
Today is the 1st day of sale of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows books. Initially I wanted to queue up with hanhan outside borders and wait for the book, but THEN, her boyfriend danny said that he's going too, to buy the book for her...so I cant possibly stay there and be a light bulb for the whole night right? In the end I decided not to go. Even though I am a harry potter fan and it is the last-and-never- will- come-out-again book, it is a waste of time to queue up there and wait for the book to come out and plus the fact that I'm not buying the book. My cousin 'offers' to buy it for me AFTER my bdae as a belated bdae present when the price drops to rock bottom...Grr...
Serene went to queue at around 3pm yesterday. This morning hanhan called me telling me that her parents fetched her home last night at around 1am. She had no choice but to leave danny at that place. And she told me that he stood there for the whole night and caught a really bad cold but refused to go home because he promised to buy the book for her. This morning he even sent the book to her house. Such a nice boyfriend! Hahaz and hanhan said she dont deserve such a good boyfriend because she always bullies him. Hmm...the power of love...hahaz...may god bless them...
The weather makes me blush too often these few days. Vessel dilation? Maybe. Hahaz and because of this, I've been labelled as the 3rd party between wanyi n yvonne by them. So funny! Hahaz...the people in my class are really weird. We are becoming more gay-ish n les-ish...our relationships: It's complicated!
